Background

Arrangements for safeguarding children in England are changing in Sept  2019 as a result of the Children Social Work 2017.

The Local Safeguarding Children Board in Luton  will be changing to a new set of Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MASA). The new arrangements in Luton will still be named the Luton Safeguarding Children’s Board (LSCB).

These new arrangements, outline how partners will work together to safeguard children come into force in to Sept 2019. They  place more emphasis on considering outcomes for children and young people, and the impact of work that organisations in  Luton do to keep children safe, well and achieving their aspirations.

The Luton Safeguarding Children Board will also be working closely with the Safeguarding Boards in Central Bedfordshire and Bedford to ensure that multi-agency working is as joined up and efficient for partners.

The process to report concerns about a child in  Luton  does not  change and neither does  the operational activity within organisations.

Training, guidance and policies and procedures relating to the safeguarding of children will continue to be available through the LSCB website.

Further information about the arrangements can be found below.

Comments about the arrangements can be fedback using the contact form.
