Safeguarding in the voluntary and community sectors
The Luton Safeguarding Children Board endorses the Safe Network’s national safeguarding standards and accompanying guidance.
The Safe Network standards have been designed to help non-statutory organisations put in place clear safeguarding arrangements and ensure that work undertaken by groups and organisations with children and young people up to the age of 18 years:
- Takes appropriate responsibility for protecting children from abuse
- Minimises as far as reasonably possible the risk that children will suffer serious accidental injury
- Is enjoyable, adventurous and rewarding for all involved
- Complies with legislation
Introducing the Safe Network – a dedicated resource for the community and voluntary sector, including social enterprise organisations, not for profit organisations, charities, community, voluntary groups and social enterprise organisations.
