Below we have listed details of the Luton Family Information Service and telephone numbers of national help lines able to offer advice and support on a wide range of issues.

The Luton Family Information Service (FIS) provides information, advice and guidance on a variety of services, helplines and websites that can be useful to parents, carers, children and young people up to the age of 20. This includes information for the parents of disabled children, careers in childcare, activities for young people and help with the cost of childcare. FIS also supports schools by providing information and resources around careers advice.

The Service is open from 8.45am to 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4.30pm on Fridays. The FIS is located at:

Pregnancy Club

Women only social evenings, suitable for pregnant women living in Luton from early on in pregnancy (8 weeks +) up to the birth of your baby.

The aim of Pregnancy Club is to raise the confidence of new ‘mums to be’ regarding the birth of their baby.

Women will get the opportunity to meet other pregnant mums and to build support networks and will receive tools to use for as healthy pregnancy as possible.

There will also be a focus on key health messages from early on in pregnancy along with information on what is happening in Luton for families.

Delivered by Midwives with a monthly changing programme of community professionals such as: Health Visitors, Infant Feeding Team, Diet and Nutrition Specialist, Active Birth team from the Luton and Dunstable Hospital to name but a few.

Duration: 2 hours (once a month)
